It is commonly served with other foods in various homes, canteens, food stalls, and Eateries. It’s usually served as a source of protein to compliment a balanced diet meal.

Egg is also usually mixed with other materials like flour when baking. It can be fried, boiled, and baked.

Due to its unique role of appeal across the globe, a day has been set aside to celebrate Egg and create awareness annually.

School Feeding Program: Mowe zone actively participates in Ogun State government school feeding program. The zone is a major supplier of Eggs for the daily feeding of school pupils across the state.

Chicken Zone

At Mowe zone, we raise our chickens for dual commercial use. They are raised for both Meat and Egg production. Egg produced from chickens can be for reproduction through hatching or sold for consumption by humans.

Due to its affordability, it is served with most Nigerian cuisines. In addition to the commercial breeding done by Poultry farmers, families find it very convenient to raise chickens in their backyard.

Within Mowe zone the 3 broad classes of our chickens are:

  1. Broilers/Cockrel (for meat Consumption)
  2. Breeder/Parent Stock (Egg laying for hatching to produce day old chicks)
  3. Egg Laying stock (for commercial sales and consumption)
